New Yorker Eugene Morris Jerome is in foreign territory during his training as a World War II Army recruit. He’s been shipped to Biloxi, Mississippi, for his basic training. Neil Simon’s hit play follows the Brooklyn Jew’s impressions—always funny, often obscene, and sometimes heart wrenching—of his wartime experience.
