E.F. Young, Jr. Manufacturing Company
From humble beginnings, E.F. Young began his career as a barber and taxi-cab driver. While barbering, he noticed a need for hair care products specifically for Black hair. Working from his kitchen, he created such great products as Stay 'n Touch, and Curl 'n Body. Founded in 1933, E.F. Young Manufacturing Company received its official trademark from the U.S. Patent Office in Washington D.C.. E.F. Young Manufacturing Company is the oldest Black-owned company in the United States.
